My first WI

This week I went to my first WI meeting. I didn't think I would be going to WI before I even hit 30, but it seems that is a rather outdated idea.

The local group was only set up a few months ago, and needed new members. A friend saw their stall, selling cakes and jam of course, at a local fair and was asked if she would like to go along.

The session was about stained glass, run by a local artist (her story was similar to mine up to the point she gave up her career to go to art school!) and by the end of the session, we had made a stained glass tree between us all.

Definitely going to go back for the next meeting in September. £30 for a year is a bargain. Plus, there's tea, cake, chatting and crafts - what's not to like!
